“…as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (John 1:12).
“Thou shalt call his name Jesus,” the angel said to Mary (Luke 1:31). The name “Jesus” means “Jehovah is salvation.” You will receive power to become a son of God when you believe that Jesus is not merely a Savior, or even the Savior, but that He is your personal Savior.
Many Christians today go through life with the knowledge of God, but as the apostle Paul said, “deny the power thereof.” They may know that Jesus died for their sins, yet they have not truly embraced this life changing reality and made it their own. As one of my dear brothers said in our discussion last night, “the only thing separating them from a truly intimate relationship with the Lord is the 18″ between their head and their heart.
Gang, we all need for the truth of the gospel to travel those 18” from our heads to our hearts, so we may truly embrace and intimately know our Savior. This is our prayer for everyone today.
